Frostbite

interference

A Victorian ghost story.
With a contemporary twist.

By Phil Porter
When newly widowed Philomena and her young daughter, Dymphna set up home in the old orphanage, they are immediately adopted by both their landlord and the local teenage tearaway.

These new relationships are forged amidst the backdrop of an increasingly strange and unsettling chain of events.

A trip outside one snowy night leads to a shocking revelation. As characters deal with the fallout, previously unseen forces come in to play and a dangerous threshold is crossed.

A bargain must be struck and the cost will be high.
Frostbite is written by Phil Porter, winner of the Arts Council Children’s Award ‘made for excellence, inspiration and innovation in children’s theatre writing’. Recent work includes: Pinocchio (Royal Opera House), The Cracks in my Skin (Manchester Royal Exchange), Smashed Eggs (National Tour), Starseeker (Theatre Royal, Northampton), Isolated Children in Faraway Places (Theatre 503). Future productions include The Flying Machine at the Unicorn Theatre in Spring 2008. Phil is currently working on commissions for Birmingham Rep and Paines Plough.
