THE HUNT

Three years on from the hunting ban and this countryside tradition still battles for survival. Few issues divide the British public as passionately as the Hunt. Everyone has an opinion. But just what is it about the 'pursuit of the inedible by the unspeakable' that continues to elicit such strong responses and drive a wedge between the town and the country? In March this year we spent a week at the Arvon Centre in Clun with 6 of our favourite playwrights: Sean Buckley, Chloe Moss, Alan Harris, Alecky Blythe, Kara Miller and Joel Horwood, investigating this provocative subject.
Allowed unprecedented access to the local Hunt, our writers produced a wide range of work in response.
Some of this is now in development, leading towards an exciting season of work to be announced shortly.

RECENT PROJECTS

Strawberry Fields

A highly political verbatim drama about migrant labour developed in association with Alecky Blythe. Performed locally in village halls, where it engaged directly with the communities affected by the issues, then toured nationally.

Morgan George is scrumptious as a twittery old lady with a sparrow quick mind who questions whether eating strawberries out of season is worth the price of a scarred countryside
The Guardian

This is no po-faced polemic, it is very funny, a fine piece of thought provoking documentary theatre. Strawberries will never seem the same again.
