Sally and George Price took over the Nag's Head in 1968.

Both were local to Ludlow. Sally had previously worked in Woolworths and George had been a miner at the Highley Pit in the Clee Hills.
They were given the pub rent free for the first year in order to help them build up a trade. Competition was exceedingly high as at the time there were over 30 pubs in the town. The deal worked, however, and soon Sally and George had established a healthy clientele. After that they paid £32 per week.
The Price’s took great pride in the community spirit of the pub, and many of their customers became good friends. Over the years they hosted numerous parties to celebrate key national and local events. One of the most memorable of these was held in honour of the Queen’s Jubilee Year in 1977.

Sally and George involved themselves in the pubs recreational activities including darts and dominoes teams. The 1960’s saw the modernisation of the public house, with the introduction of juke boxes and fruit machines and the removal of the old Victorian and Edwardian features.
Sally and George left the Nag's Head in 1985, they continued working in the trade in Leintwardine until their retirement back to Ludlow. Both of them look back on the Nag's Head with fond memories of the many good people who shared their company.
Their grown up children, David and Gillian both live in Ludlow.
